Our Coaches

Gemma Miles 

Head Coach

Gemma has grown up with the sport of All Star Cheerleading, competing with the first Australian team to travel to the World Championships in Florida. As an athlete she has won numerous national titles and is now a passionate and accomplished coach. Gemma is IASF qualified in levels 1-4 and has 9 years of coaching experience. Outside of cheer Gemma is a qualified counsellor with a passion for counselling children and young adults.

Bronte Miles

Head Coach

Bronte has been involved in All Star Cheerleading since 2005, competing at and winning multiple National Titles along the way. Bronte is a qualified IASF coach in levels 1-4 and has been coaching for 8 years. With formal qualifications in Marketing and Events Management, Bronte is also our social media guru.

Ascha Boag

Gym Manager and Coach

Ascha has seen first hand the positive impact All Star Cheer had on her sisters growing up. This inspired her to open Evolve with her sisters Gemma and Bronte in 2017. Ascha brings extensive small business experience to Evolve and is passionate about providing a great experience both for the athletes and parents and welcomes everyone as a member of the Evolve family. Ascha is IASF qualified to level 1.

Alex Gunn


Alex has been coaching cheer for 5 years and is IASF qualified levels 1-3. Alex took 2017 off to travel the world and was a group leader at Camp America summer camp. Alex is looking forward to getting back out on the mat in 2020!

Coach Cece

Cece Powley


Cece has been in the world of All Star Cheerleading for 13 years. As an athlete Cece has represented Australia at the Cheerleading World Championships in the first Australian All Girl level 6 team in 2014. Cece is a IASF qualified coach in level 1-4 and has been coaching for 9 years and is dedicated to ensuring that athletes are excited to come to training to learn new skills. Cece’s favourite thing about cheer is the way it creates life-long friendships, and that the gym is a place where every individual can be themselves.

Steph Odoi

Dance Coach

With a background in hip hop, pom and jazz, Steph is super excited to be part of the Evolve family.

Steph has danced hip hop for a number of years with Pacific Elite Dance Training Centre and Monash University Cheerleading and Dance Club. Steph also represented Australia at the 2018 World University Cheerleading Championships, earning a silver medal in Team Hip Hop and placing sixth for Hip Hop Doubles! Steph is a qualified nutritionist and looks to impart her passion in all her classes!


Gian Baranello

Tumble Coach

Gian has been involved with Evolve from the beginning. In fact, as a qualified engineer, Gian designed Evolve’s gym layout and built our sprung floor!  Gian is IASF qualified for Tumble levels 1 and 2 and has extensive coaching experience in other sports including football and volleyball. He is passionate about youth coaching and loves the strong bonds athletes form by being a part of a team.
